Protectorates, Levy and factors

Post by adamc6 »

Excellent game -- I don't post much.

What factors go into determining how many units protectorates levy for you in the spring? I have seen in the manual that "size of your army" has an impact (small army, large levy and vice versa). Does a multi-province protectorate produce, or have the potential to produce more? (Seems to be the case).

Just curious. As France, once the COR comes into being, the small German States produce a ton of units -- also, Naples seems to be prolific.

thanks in advance.

It's just based on some data table values for each minor power (the feudalism level, the mobilization limit) plus some hard-coded bonus units.  Holland, Bavaria, Saxony, Finland, Denmark, and Portugal all have an extra chance to get a bonus nice unit (such as an artillery).  Saxony has an extra chance to levy a type of cavalry.

The Modder's Guide shows the structure of the table and a few brief comments about how it can be modified.
Occasionally, and randomly, problems and solutions collide. The probability of these collisions is inversely related to the number of committees working on the solutions. -- Me.
