Endurance query

Post by PzIII »

Hi all

I've my main body of carriers (5 CV's in two TF's)based down Noumea way. Mainly annoying the supply routes and trying to prevent any potential landings on Port Moresby. Also building up forces for a landing on Lunga.
My query being I moved CVE Long Island from West Coast to PH and picked up some SBD Attached to South Pacific then moved it on to Noumea, fine.
Now CVE Long Island is showing big red endurance......what gives?
Was going to use it a replenishment role for my CV's.

Tried attaching to various types of TF's and nothing!

There's a really simple solution to this I suspect!!!

Cheers in advance

Did the Long Island refuel at Noumea? It sounds like she's low on fuel.

Hey Grotius,

I had CVE in a TF whilst moving from West Coast via PH then disbanded it at Noumea. I thought, originally it was because it needed to be docked.
I've no idea!

Thanks anyways

Sometimes when you set a TF to 'FOLLOW' another TF the endurance (fuel required on TF screen) number mistakenly shows a figure in the tens of thousands (e.g 166284). Don't worry.

Can you show us a screen shot of her?

EDIT: sorry you meant ship endurance, not TF

Hey all,

problem solved, as Grotius pointed out, a refueling issue. I had a replenishing TFkicking about after a tour of duty that had just come back t Noumea and did a refuel TF at sea after I'd added the CVE to one of my CV TF's.............job done, green endurance again, yippee!

Thanks for assistance on such a complicated matter, doh!

Also, the endurance color is related to the distance from the ship's home port, IIRC. If you set the TF's home port to something closer, the annoying red color goes away.

What mlees said; just set the home port for Noumea instead of SF and the red endurance numbers will go away.

(shakes fist at mlees for saying it first)
