just a few questions

Post by DodgyDave »

i play france and time comes for reinforcement, 5 new Guards, now my guard corps was forced into siege vs a prussian city, so now cant receive them, is that right???

now do Guard becomes INF, becuase there dont seem to be any way to do them into INF and more, in land, i move my guard corps away and there is still 5 Guard for reinforcement, but i have no way to pick them up?

just what are the rules on this subject???

and lastly, this is a computer game right? i got like 10 or 12 minors with corps now, why are there not a economic sheet, that shows yourself and all your minors, much like how the boardgame was like? i mean come on, this is a computer game, why do i need to use pen and paper to play it???

OK, for the guard troops (and any others for that matter on reinforcement)..

Click on your corps (providing you are within one space of a depot, click on the bottom left button to move the corps outside of the city during reinforcement, load the troops with the reinforce button, then move them back into the city.

As for if you are out of the range of the depot when the reinforcements come, that sucks... as of right now there is not a conversion that I am aware of to switch guard or cav into inf so you can just garrison, as of right now they are just lost. (so watch for when they come in closely)

As for when they come in (AND the minors to build for)

The top string of buttons (the 3rd from the left) has 3 colored bars like a chart..) this is a quick reference window that you can open that will list all of your conquered and free provinces, wars and enforced peace, allies and even at the bottom is a left and right arrow to look through each month to see what is comming in so you can keep someone available to load them into. The only thing NOT listed here are fleets being built.

Good luck, and I hope this helped.

Actually, you can do the conversion, though the way to do it is rather hidden: you open the national status window, and double click the text where it says "current reinforcements". Then you'll get a dialogue asking whether you want to convert all to infantry. (So make sure you place any you can place before you do the conversion, since it's all or nothing of what you have left.)
