Turn 2

Supply: 20
LP: 3/3
AS: 7/11
VP: 212 of 312
New Landings: He expanded from the other beachheads and landed the
40 Pz Division in Wilmington and 56 and 41 Pz Divisions and the Italian Army
in Boston.
All my immediately threatened formations are now active. I pulled Hartford's defenders
into NYC, Colombia's into Charlotte, and N Florida's into Orlando and
St. Petersburg.

Turn 3

Supply: 21
VP: 211
LP: 4/3
AS: 13/13

Fronts - Panama: The Brazilians have been activated. They should reach Panama
within 5 turns, and attack after 6.

South: Columbia has fallen. Greensboro and Raleigh are besieged by
large mechanized forces and will fall next turn, as might Charlotte (to the
40th Pz Div), despite being garrisoned by an infantry regiment and
the 45th ID divisional artillery. I left that regiment to guard Atlanta for at least 1 more turn
because the only forces that he can attack it with are two recon battalions
and two infantry regiments. And the infantry regiments will have to use up
all their MPs to get there. Finally, the Germans have landed 1-2 infantry
divisions in Savannah.

North: An airborne regiment is scouting out the highway to Pittsburgh,
which has been garrisoned with half of the newly active 2 ID. A Maine National
Guard Regiment has been railed to the Canadian border near the Niagara Falls.
DC is surrounded. I'm counting on it holding out for the next turn, at least.
The tanks of the 56 Pz Div are ranging out and have captured Hartford. Long Island
has fallen to a naval landing by the 90 ID, but it will not be able to break NYC's fullstack
easily. And since the Germans are unsupplied in Long Island, the longer
I hold NYC, the less supplies and men the 90 ID has when the city finally falls.
Approximately half the Italian force seems to be heading north - though a likely explanation
is the heroic defense by the Concord garrison which stopped the Italian forces in their tracks
temporarily.

I'll be updating this later on; I just wanted let you know that the Axis version of this AAR can be found at the Gamesquad TOAW forum.

Turn 4

Supply: 21
VP: 211
LP: 5/4
AS: 15/16 - Lot of air combat going on; Germans seem to be losing more planes than I am

Fronts - South: The Inf. regiment in Atlanta blew the bridges and fled to Chattanooga, as it was about to be encircled. Kentucky National Guardsmen assembling in Knoxville have halted the Germans' elite recon units. The 2nd Cav Division has activated and is moving east with more National Guardsmen. However, most are moving by foot due to the lack of rail transport. What I'm worried about now is the complete absence of any kind of defenses in Georgia and Louisiana until the Mississippi. The defenders of Charlotte are somewhat shaken after a German attack and for all intents and purposes were driven out of the city,
but they are still completely intact. I am keeping them around the city to see what happens.

North: And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night, that our flag was still there! In other words, the capital is holding. Philadelphia and NYC appear to have weathered probing attacks, but the only effect they have had, as far as I can see, is to dislodge a unit or two from its trenches. A small Italian force has crossed the US-Canada border and is mere miles from Montreal. The Romanians have landed in Portland as well - this suggests an imminent land-based Axis invasion of Canada. I have already blown the bridges in both Quebec and Montreal.
Some of the Romanians are still in the ocean. I'd like to introduce them to my B-17s.

The attack went a bit awry, and 7 B-17s were lost or damaged. However, something like a third of the Romanian army is now underwater. Another attack leads to the loss of a dozen B-17s, with inconsequential damage dealt to the enemy.

Turn 5

Supply: 23
VP: 215
LP: 5/8 - We're givin' them Krauts a good lickin'
AS: 15/14 - A lot of planes are going down on both sides; I think I'm destroying more of his, but I have reason to believe that more of mine are being damaged

Fronts - South: A huge German force is coming to take Florida. It is composed of three mechanized regiments of the Tejas Korps and the 2 ID. [X(] I'm thinking of withdrawing the 70 ID from St. Petersburg and Orlando and sending them south into those marshes to effect a Thermopylai-style defense (hopefully one that will last longer than 3 days). If I lose Florida, Havana will be left
wide open to a naval invasion.

A huge motorized enemy force has been detected near Charleston.

I'm sending more NG regiments east, and I've concentrated a huge force in Memphis (mostly cavalry).

The units I left around Charleston have been utterly defeated and RBCed all over the place. They serve a valuable purpose by distracting the immensely powerful 40 Pz Div, though.

North: Washington is managing very well. All of its besiegers have orange or yellow health icons.

The big border-bulge near Pittsburg suggests some kind of German presence in that area.

NYC survived a serious attack that left the Germans exhausted. 3 units were forced out of NYC, so it was definitely not a one-sided battle.
Philadelphia is unsupplied, so I had to evacuate it. The tanks and infantry got out OK, but the units I tried to rail out didn't do so well. The artillery lost a dozen guns in a disengagement attack and the NG regiment suffered horribly, splitting into 2 pieces (the third evaporated).

The Canadians have activated, and I sent British tanks to help defend the Niagara Falls. Another unit blew a bridge which was about to be occupied by Italians, effectively shutting the way into Canada. More tanks from the center of Canada are on the way.

Three Italian and Romanian units are in the mountains and forests of northern Maine for some reason. Two might be moving towards Quebec (which is heavily defended), but the third seems to have been charged with taking Halifax. Halifax has no VPs and I won't lose any supply or replacements if I lose it, so why?

In Other News: We haven't gotten any new intelligence on the location of the Brazilian Army. It could be anywhere.

The 63 ID based around Denver has activated and is heading east.

Most of the German navy is concentrated in a stack adjacent to NYC. This is a really stupid thing to do, but I'm going to attack it with local artillery and my B-17s.

I lost 6 B-17s, 6 mortars, 4 guns, 100-200 men, and a dozen MGs. The German navy lost a light cruiser and 2 destroyers. What a pointless attack.

Turn 6

News: German's withdraw troops from Soviet border. -10 Soviet Entry
Supply: 25
VP: 175
LP: 5/8
AS: 19/16 - due to the activation of the mighty Canadian Air Force

Fronts - Panama: Wow, his cavalry is already here. Wait a sec, it seems I overestimated the logistical capabilities of the Brazilians. Ready to attack by turn 6? Ha!
He'll only get his infantry through the Panamanian border by turn 8, if he's lucky. I'm sending in 2 regiments from Cuba to help bolster the defenses. I harbor no illusions of holding on to Panama for more than a month though (well, maybe a few).

South: He appears to have stalled a little in Northern Florida. I blew some bridges near Tallahassee to hinder any advance. But I doubt he will attack, as he turned the 2 ID from Florida towards Mobile.
Jacksonville has not even been attacked yet, but he might just be waiting for support.

Most of the Tejas Korps is concentrated around Montgomery.

The 40 Pz50 Inf, 1 Inf, and 28 Pz Divs are still struggling around Atlanta. A National Guard Reg showed up in Atlanta, and I intend to get it out alive. The only obstacle is a wearied recon batallion of the 1 ID. More on that later.

Units of the Amerika Korps have penetrated through the Appalachians. Cincinnati is well-defended, but Louisville isn't. If the Germans are clever, they will take Louisville, pour troops through the Appalachians,
and surround Knoxville and Chattanooga before I can respond.

North: DC is the American Leningrad, New York the Odessa/Sevastopol. New York has fallen, mostly due to the arrival of the fresh 73 ID. The fullstack guarding it was ejected into New Jersey. It's a
sizeable force, and I would feel bad about losing it. I know there is practically no hope of saving those men, but I dug in a fresh Pennsylvanian NG regiment in Philadelphia just in case.

The Niagara falls have been turned into a fortress. Buffalo hasn't been attacked yet. I think the German tankers adjacent to it are unaware of the presence of the Philadelphia refugees south of them.
The Germans seem poised to bypass the Niagara Falls and head for undefended Cleveland. The Philadelphia refugees could cut their supply lines if they do so. I've also railed some Canadian grenadiers into the area.

Fight: German scouts vs American National Guardsmen

The first attack resulted in platoon-size casualties for both sides. The Americans took heavy equipment losses, especially in MGs.

The second attack was supported by naval bombers of the carrier U.S.S. Enterprise and a huge fighter escort. 9 bombers were destroyed, despite the lack of any German fighter or AA presence. Perhaps next time the captain of the Enterprise will think twice before subjecting torpedo bombers to small arms fire. Another platoon of National Guardsmen was lost, but the German scouts lost all their equipment to the bombers.

The third and final attack was highly inconclusive, and was nothing more than a skirmish.

After half a week of fighting, the inexperienced Guardsmen had proven incapable of ejecting the exhausted, undersupplied, and outnumbered Germans from the road. Morale plummeted, and they defied orders to mount another assault. There was general confusion throughout Atlanta. Those scouts are goddamn heroes...[:@]

I'm still laughing at the results from the attack by the National Guard against those German recon troops. They must be good shots - in order to bring down those bombers from the Enterprise.
