WIR in win2k problem

hi.

When entering my passwd in any PBEM-game in WIR, strange characters pops up.(forexample: #2/9) ,then the screen locks up.These are not part of my passwd.
Could this have to do with a keyboard-problem or the way NT emulates dos in any way?

Also,when not playing a pbem game characters screw up when i'm moving units etc,and my numpad doesnt work either(yes it has been activated).

has anyone else experienced a similar problem with win2k/XP?

my specs are:
Win2k SP2
SiS K7S5A
AMD Duron 700 mhz
Geforce 2 MX 200
128 MB SDRAM PC133

What brand of Computer are you using? Has it worked before on that particular unit?

Yes,it worked perfect with Windows98SE,so it's prolly NT-related in some way.
