Vanishing Ground Units.

As the allied player I was happily air transporting ground units around, then all of a suden I lost a unit and just thought I was going mad. I've since lost two more units during air transport, but the strange thing is whilst the unit has disappeared from the unit roster the unit attributes still appear on the bases support levels (lost so far 2 HQs and 1 Air Regiment).
Now whilst I'm willing to accept that the odd squad etc may go missing during transport, the bulk of the unit had already reached its destination and therefore for it to completely disappear seems strange.

Any thoughts on how to get around this as it sounds like a bug?

This is, unfortunately, a known bug. Also unfortunately, has been proven impossible to squash. It happens very rarely...

Transport bug - can happen with air transport (or much less likely by sea...)

When the unit is MOSTLY moved, let it "reset" so that the transported part will become the "parent" unit... this will happen when the number of support squads in the "fragment" becomes more than what is in the parent, but it takes a turn or two of no transport...

Once the unit becomes the parent, it should be safe to continue to transport it... but be careful! If the number of support squads is about the same, it can switch back and forth.

If you try to transport the last bit of the unit before it "resets", then the whole unit can disappear.

Jez that was fast and thanks for the responses, I feared that would be the case. I'll be alot more cautious with air transport in future. Can I assume that once the destination unit becomes the parent that I'm safe to continue with transporting the rest.

Yes, just making sure it doesn't revert back to a fragment... it shouldn't happen if there are a lot more support units.
