Confused?

WW2: Road to Victory is the first grand strategy release from IQ Software/Wastelands Interactive, which covers World War II in Europe and the Mediterranean. Hex-based and Turn-based, it allows you to choose any combination of Axis, Allied, Neutral, Major or Minor countries to play and gives you full control over production, diplomacy, land, air and naval strategy. Start your campaign in 1939, 1940 or 1941 and see if you can better the results of your historical counterparts. A series of historical events and choices add flavor and strategic options for great replayability.

Confused?

Post by paullus99 »

So, I'm impressed with what I've seen so far, but before I go out and spend the money - it sounds like there is something better in the pipeline. So, what's the deal?

The deal is if you weren't confused and bought this before the 18th, you would get the better in the pipeline for free.

Anyway, I only have this game for a few days and it is fraking awesome game. So if you decide to not wait for the next one and buy this one, you won't regret it. It is a very good game.

Thanks - from the AAR's it seems more operational (GG:WaW is completely strategic), which has always appealed to me.

One of my all time favourites games is Red Lighting. This is a bit similar, lathough of course Red Lighting goes into mfar more details and it is set in the WW3 lol.
It is operational covering the european theatre.

Red Lightning was awesome. When I saw the scenario had been ported to Operational Art of War, it was a no-brainer to buy. The AI was a little weak (never quite aggressive enough to respond to my flanking offensive through the Fulda Gap towards Berlin), but overall, it definitely set - at least in my mind - what a good game could be.
