Face-to-face SPWAW battles

Post by Panzergrenadier49048 »

I'm kind of new to the SPWAW forum and enjoy reading the various topic discussions of the participants. I always considered myself well-versed in WWII history facts and data, particularily in the area of armor, but I'm in awe of the depth of knlowledge of some of the forum members! I love SPWAW and have been playing some form of SP since the original SSI version was introduced. Generally I create my own all-arms units, generally battalion size, build a scenario and fight a computer opponent.
I had a close frind in the area with whom I played SP for a number of years before he moved to Maryland. I miss the face-to-face battles and the post-battle discussions that followed. Does anybody out there live in the general area of Kalamazoo, Michigan that would be interested in getting together now and then for a face-to-face SPWAW battle? I tried to draw my son and wife into Steel Panthers, but to no avail. If anybody is interested, please let me know!

Have you tried playing online with Roger Wilco running so you can talk to your opponent? Maybe not as good but surely the next best thing?
They struggled with a ferocity that was to be expected of brave men fighting with forlorn hope against an enemy who had the advantage of position......knowing that courage was the one thing that would save them.

Any Military bases around there? Back in '98 it I put up a 4x6 card on the notices board at Millington. Had a half a dozen gamers in less then a week. An ad in the campus paper might do the trick. If the campus supports ROTC you should hook some.
