We need patch 1.21!!!!

Post by Paulchen »

Good work boys and girls,
the patch 1.20 looks nice, but (i´m soory, but it is fact) we have a bug in the patch.

The transport bug:
- transport-TF will not load their maximum cargo, it seems to me, that the tf load random cargo and go to his destination.

- transport-TF will not load the compled land unit

I have a save-file, if anybody from matrix have interest.

If you saying that a Transport TF of 5000 capacity (for example), fill up will nothing but ground troops, please keep this in mine:

Credit goes to segorn for this information...

Example:

A Regment with a size 3,000 will be loaded as follows:

3 X 1000 Load Transports

1/Regiment on first transport (1000 load)
2/Regiment on second (1000 load)
3/Regiment on third (1000 load)

1X 1000 Transport and 1 X 2000 transport

1/Regiment on first transport (1000 load)
2/Regiment on second (2000 load)

A regiment can end up in > 1 transport.

*However* you cannot mix regiments on the same transport.

Thus putting a regiment on 3 transports is fine, but putting 3 regiments on one transport won't work even if there's space.

Example:

1 X AA Battalion Size 1000
1 X Base Force Size 2000

Will fit on:

3 X 1000 transport
1 X 1000 tranport and 1 X 2000 transport

will *not* fit on:

1 X 3000 transport (b/c troops from both regiments would have to share space on the same transport)

No, I have a TF with 22 1000 marus, and I load the south seas detachment. The TF load 1/4 of the units and the rest are supply, the capycity of the TF is 22000, but only 21500 cargo (inclusive troops) will load.

The other problem:
A TF in Truk with 22 2000 marus (capacity: 44000) load only 12000 and go to his destiny.
An other TF load in truk all his capacity and go to his destiny.

I do all the same. with th TFs.

In all patches before, it works, but now, this results.

Same here. I have seen what some are saying about not fully loading.

Yep !! This is of course the root of the problem, ( and what is confusing us ) the Troop/Transport Loading screen values are pretty much useless since it`s impossible to fine tune the Troop loading to max out the ship in the TF with just Troops. ( unless I`m missing something here, if so clue me in please )

You allways end up loading Waaay too much supply to fill out the ships, which takes waaay to long to unload since it unloads at the same time as the troops.. I find it impossible to get just a Regt + HQ or RCT+ HQ landed in under 3 days.. far too long when in range of those Nells & Bettys:(

Seperate Troop and Cargo Ships that just load/unload that item would be a better option IMHO.

One thing I've noticed that may help. If you give the TF orders to load troops, the TF display will show loading troops and for example 560 of 6000 during the first turn.

Once all troops are loaded this changes to:

loading supply
2650 of 6000

At this point you can hit the cancel load supply button and the status will change to "idle" and the TF will move to its detination during the next movement phase. The ships will not be fully loaded/topped off with supplies.

For invasions I prefer several smaller TF's to one gigantic TF. That way you can better control whats loaded/unloaded. If you prefer the big armadas, merge the TF's once they are loaded.

It just happened to me. IJN TF of 15 AP's, given orders at Truk
to load a couple of small land units. They took off without loading supplies in ANY of the AP's. (They did load the troops).

On turn 1 of #17 no less (v1.2).

I split the transport in Brisbane into AKs only and APs only. I loaded the AKs w/supplies and sent them to PM. No problem.

I loaded the APs with, iirc, all of the small stuff plus 1 of the inf. units. When this group was at sea, it showed up as only about 90% loaded.

Btw, I wasn't going to mention this cuz you'll think I'm nuts, but.... also on this 1st turn of #17 I clicked or hit a key or something that caused the weather report box to be displayed again just like at the beginning of turn???

I had this happen to me with version 1.11! It seems to be percular with the Japanese. I never noticed the Allies (USN) TF's doing this.
