The Principles of War!

Post by KingHunter »

I posted this on the Slitherine forum, so I thought you might enjoy it here. As a retired Military Officer, I often see the theories and struggles of the young people here and wonder if they know that there are guidelines in participating in this 'WAR' simulation. Yes, it is indeed a simulation. With the following, I am going to contribute to our play, and hopefully future play, various resources on the principles of war, first espoused by Carl von Clausewitz in his essay on this subject. Some of you may have read this as well as the 'Art of War' by Sun Tzu. Here are a couple of sources:

The Principles of War: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Principles_of_War

US Doctrine; the 9 Principles of War: http://planningskills.com/askdan/18.php

Enjoy!
