Hey

This sequel to the award-winning Crown of Glory takes Napoleonic Grand Strategy to a whole new level. This represents a complete overhaul of the original release, including countless improvements and innovations ranging from detailed Naval combat and brigade-level Land combat to an improved AI, unit upgrades, a more detailed Strategic Map and a new simplified Economy option. More historical AND more fun than the original!

Not IP MP, but WEGO MP turn based which is, shall I say, superior? That is one of the reasons I'm considering getting into this game.

Command decision suspense date; 26/04/09.

There's more info about the TCP/IP situation here: tm.asp?m=2051846

The bottom line is that there is online multi-player, and plenty of people have used it, but since a small percentage of customers cannot due to some flawed Microsoft software that we built into the engine we are not officially supporting it. PBEM works absolutely fine, the only drawback being that it doesn't have tactical battles.
Michael Jordan plays ball. Charles Manson kills people. I torment eager potential customers by not sharing screenshots of "Brother Against Brother." Everyone has a talent.

Hmm, interesting. The info in the store says no Tcp/IP, but WEGO. I suppose it would not sound right to say it might work.[;)] No matter to me, for such a game, WEGO is the preferred method of play.

I've read that one-quite an entertaining writer[:)]. It looks like there are a great many options for a grand strategy-perhaps allowing a change of course? I will know soon-tomorrow.

So, I bought it.

The first step was to refresh on the history of the era. I remembered a few details of the big battles and dates, but WOW-what an incredibly violent and Machiavellian age!

This is going to be a blast. I have not had a Napoleon setting game since Avalon Hill's Waterloo [:D]

Maestro, Welcome!  Have fun!  When you get up and running, think about joining a PBEM. :)

Thanks, Barbarossa.

I spent about 10 minutes with the instructions and jumped into the 1815 campaign last night. Got into a big battle in Lorraine. It stated well enough-then after a few days I was getting creamed by the ai-excellent!

I'm trying a more serious approach this morning. One...step...at...a..time...[:D]

I will be thrilled to get into an MP game. It will take me some time to get up to speed first though-a few days at least-maybe a couple of weeks.

The only drawback to the pbem multiplayer is the lack of detailed combat.  Its all instant.  I would love to be able to export data from a pbem game to a tcp/ip detailed battle setup where two players could have detailed battles in battles of a certain size (more than 150,000 combatants perhaps?  It could be a house rule maybe.) and then reimport the data to the pbem game.

Well, you are about 15 years my senior, so I guess that makes me a young guy[:D]-I'll take the compliment.

This game is rather broad, but it is not all that difficult over all. I had gotten stuck a few times today, but kept driving on-I have made some good headway in understanding some parts of the game (The Swedish Army can kick butt on the Danes any day of the week now[;)]). I still have a long ways to go, but so long as the wife leaves me in peace, I'll get there in good time.

Anyway, I think you would find this quite playable-especially if can wrap your mind around WitP. The map is very nice also-easy on the eyes.

I can see why you say that. I have had 4 major tactical battles today and I'm almost speechless[;)]those battles are just, just, well, satisfying in a special way[;)]. I imagine against a human those would be even more entertaining.
