two questions

Post by Oliver Heindorf »

Hello !

I am new to UV ( game arrived yesterday ) and I have two questions here where I am in douibt about the game behavior, maybe you can help me out :)

1. )

My CV Lexington got damaged ( Sys 20 ) and is now at Noumea in the port located. ( The Shokaku went down, a good deal ;) ) The damaged Lexington lays now for 7 days in the Harbor but there is not a single damage point removed

I dont ask for being 20 points removed in a single week, but why not at least one point removed ?

Or do I need to sent it back to Peal because the Sys 20 damage is orange ?

2.) I moved the Land unit based at Wau Wau ( or something like this, cant remember the name :D ) and I took a base next to it. Then I marched back ( just to see how the japs would react )
now this land unit has always a fatigue of 84-92, and it does not decrease. The base at Wau Wau says that there is enough supply there. The troops rested for one week and still fatigue is high.

What is up with them ?

thank you in advance & sorry for the bad english, its not my first language.

Some answers.

1. 20 percent system damage is harder to remove on a carrier than a destroyer. Once the damage gets into the orange level, points are reduced very slowly on a carrier. Also, in order to reduce damage, you must be at anchor, not docked in a TF, if this is the case.

2. Fatigue is reduced based on supply, base size, malaria-free zones, and support. It sounds as if you have one out of the four things needed to reduce fatigue at the quickest level, which the manual says is still quite slow. Possibly 2 out of four, if you added more support troops to the unit which starts somewhat low. If support is red, fatigue is reduced more slowly.

hey kp

thank you !

actually, the Lexington has removed two damage points ( in 14 days ) and the fatigue dropped slowly under 70 of the land unit

conclusion :

UV is like NASCAR : Patience is the key !

Its in the manual but malaria free areas are:

Cairns and all bases south of there (Cooktown is not malaria free)
Noumea and any bases built on that island

For the Japanese well there is only Truk

Truk, Noumea, Goro, Basse-Poya, Koumac, Brisbane, Rockhampton, Townsville, Charter Towers, and Cairns are considered malaria-free zones. Note that Cooktown is not.

Even under reducing disruption/fatigue? Es wäre eine unvollständige Übersetzung, wenn es ausgelassen würde.

Even under reducing disruption/fatigue?..snip
Being kind of a nitpicker (like always :)), it's section 18.4 at page 110 (as you posted before) of the original manual.
I don't have (or need) the german one, so I can't tell if it's omitted or not.
