Looking for an opponant

Post by Shultz »

Hello everyone,

I am pretty new to SPWaW, and I would like to try out the PBEM. I would like for someone to set up a game for my first time to get the feel for it, any time period is ok, I prefer playing germans but it doesnt really matter to me to be honest, I posted earlier in another forum that I was new and playing against ai, but if anyone would like I prefer a human opponant to computer :P

Thanks
Shultz

I don't have any games currently going. If you like I am available to play.

Any side, any year. The only thing I don't like is Command and Control. Please let me know.

Cool. I"ll try and set something up.
Do we post moves here (or in the AAR/DAR topic), or do you prefer using Email?

Bring all the kitties and rockets you want, we'll hold a landscaping competition. :D

Ok, second attempt.
I'm not sure it's the same map, but everything else is.
One thing: I still didn't get to deploy, anyone knows if this is normal? Ie does player 1 deploy last and then move first?

Yeah, If I am not mistaken when I send the file back to you, you will deploy then do the first turn.

So far, so good, then.
BTW, I'm on the early shift this week. What with the time difference and all, turnaround may be a bit slow. (anywhere from 12-24 hrs)

Something wrong at this end, I think. I can't load it either.
I'll redeploy and replay. See if it helps.

Since you guys are new to the PBEM I will make a quite suggestion

Post by Gary Tatro »

When you hit the end game turn button with your last final moves. Make sure to wait a good 3 minutes before you exit the game or go anywhere. Get up and go to the bathroom, fridge and get a drink, kiss the significant other that you have been neglecting and then come back and exit and zip and send. You will find that you hardly ever get the "saved game failed to load message"
Otherwise all you do is end up replaying turns. No fun for either player.
