Wow [:D]

That is an absolutely fascinating 'document.' So many points it raises . . .

For one thing, consider this: presently the U.S. is "at war" (I put it in quotes, not to diminish the horrible significance of the global conflict called the "War on Terror" manifest in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc., but simply to point out how different it is even from a "war" like Vietnam, let alone WWII). Despite the U.S. being "at war" just try to imagine for a moment ANYTHING remotely resembling this film in theatres today. Obviously this clip was a "newsreel" meant as a propaganda/morale instrument to be used in theatres (both civilian and military). Indeed, I've seen lately some recruitment films when I've gone to the theatre, but they are nothing like this, more MTV-derived type things.

Referring to that other thread "good design" indeed [;)]

Very nice!

Filmed during an era when the military-industrial complex was viewed as way to win wars, not cause them...

Please leave your political views out of this. This bugs the heck out of me when we cannot have a forum where someone has to interject their little "one liners".

Jerry, sorry to offend. I was trying to be ironic in response to Anthropoid's comments noting that such a film would not be made today. As a combat veteran, I actually believe in having the best kit...and don't believe that those who make it are warmongering...

Yeah, apologies if anything I said was politically offensive Jerry.

I seem to recall there was a video game on PTs that was being developed back about 5 or 6 years ago, it had a website, stills and video. Thought it was supposed to have been released in '05, anybody know what happened to it?

Howdy Kelley,

Ummm, I like PT boats. Small, fast, nasty; didn't do a lot, but they were always out there, nasty, nasty, nasty. So how did they keep the termites down?
