Picture of us at DC Metro Witp Summit

Post by DE679 »

The first DC area summit went off with out a hitch, and a good time was had by all. We had six show. AW1Steve, Asqerix, Skewball, Tallyman662, SimonDC, and DE679. We had to separate the JFB's to the far side of the table. They kept mumbling something about KB this and mini KB that. Grumble grumble allied 4 engine bombers, and then something about PT boats, and Uber Cap. While the AFB's also griped a bit but not as much with something about Betty and her torpeedee's; and then something about 180,000 guys on some atoll. We also placed bets on when AE will be released! AW1Steve is going to host another summit soon and hope others will come. We had a great time with great Beers, and fine conversations about Witp. Finally someone understands what I am talking about! [:)]

In the Picture below, from left to right is, AW1Steve, Asqerix, DE679, Skewball, SimonDC, and Tallyman662.

PS. After many beer's most started to think that Nikademus Insanity Wood girl was looking pretty good![:D]

Congrats on putting together such a fine summit. A few questions:

1) Looks like you guys are really enjoying those glasses of ice tea, but why is it foaming?

2) I've heard alot about trolls and stuff, but you guys all look pretty normal.

3) Where are the Confederates? (Isn't this a gathering of Army of Northern Virgina WitP afficionados?)

4) Where are the babes? Aren't most WitP's players female?

Congrats on tearing that many WitP players away from their computers. It is always fun to meet with folks affiliated, I mean, dedicated to our particular game[:)]

With a few hundred choices of beers from around the world we had to try and sample most of them.

The eyeball liberty there was not bad either (no, not Nik's Insanity Woods girl types). If ever in NOVA, look us up!

We agreed to save that for a second time and a quieter place. [:)] We did have fun discussing the Thread, and fellow forumites and Threadsters. [:D]

Hmmm. The gears are turning. Most of those places have souvenirs on the walls. How about if you start leaving some AAR battle maps from WITP on the walls at the establishments you visit? Imagine the stories historians swap as they 'remember' famous battles that never happened, etc. [:D]

Yes, yes....one should never underestimate the "chic magnet" effect
of a bunch of guys talking about a wargame either.

It is still a little fuzzy, but if I recall correctly. The consensus was that the British did NOT sink the Bismark, but was scuttled by her own crew.

(Keeping my head down for all the flak that's going to come my way for that answer.)

How about we table discussion on this one till our next summit, say in a month or two? [:D]

Yes, much better to discuss that while drunk. [:'(]

Well, it is a chic magnet. I know, because I've seen it in a Ron Saueracker avatar.

Well, maybe not , but tempers don't generally fly in the presense of good feelings brought about by beer...[:D]
