My fears confirmed :)

Based on Atomic Games’ award-winning Close Combat series, Close Combat: The Longest Day brings together the classic top-down tactical gameplay from the original series and plenty of new features, expansions, and improvements! The Longest Day remake comes with a brand new Grand Campaign that covers all the airborne and beach landings, expanded map sizes, new hand-drawn historical maps, illumination during night battles and much more!

I knew that I would lose sleep by buying this. First night and I went to bed when the birds woke up ... for 30 minutes sleep.
Hard work is a good way to succeed. There is less competition that way...

I've played four full turns of the grand campaign since I bought the game on Friday.

The 'just one more battle' addiction is strong with that one...

Same here, I spent the weekend defending Normandy against Yanks and Tommies :) The coolest thing is that Matrix
's CC4 and CC5 versions finally feel like a real wargames. The Atomic Games CC4/5 felt like historical RTS. One thing that I'm kind of not too happy about is the small size of squads...I prefer the original squad size...other than that it's all great.
