Can allies transport each other's troops?

This sequel to the award-winning Crown of Glory takes Napoleonic Grand Strategy to a whole new level. This represents a complete overhaul of the original release, including countless improvements and innovations ranging from detailed Naval combat and brigade-level Land combat to an improved AI, unit upgrades, a more detailed Strategic Map and a new simplified Economy option. More historical AND more fun than the original!

Can allies transport each other's troops?

In a multi-player game can you transport your allies' troops with your fleets?

I don't think so.  I read something about that, but I don't recall where.  Maybe somebody else can help with this.

It would be nice if allies could move units around from other allies.  What I think would make this difficult is the way turn orders are given in CoG:EE.  It seems there needs to be a way to place your corps, armies, divisions under the command of another player temporarily, and then take the control back at any time.  This could be done, perhaps, by right clicking on the unit, giving control to an allied player (only allies could do this), then from then on, the control of the unit would be held by your ally.  Each player would then also have a screen they could go to which would show their currently loaned units in a list, and they could then click on any of them (or any group of them) to re-gain control "instantly" (or by next turn).

I seem to recall a vague memory that this type of thing was allowed in CoG1 but was removed early on - too many variables (who can attack who - or is that whom can attack whom), and once transfer occured the new controlling player could take the troops eslewhere and dump them off on some island in the middle of nowhere if he/she was disposed to being a jerk, etc etc...

Wow.  Would be handy.  :)  I wish I had $5,000,000 to sink into the engine and just freaking go to town.

Is it obvious I love this system?  You know, there are a few things I would do differently if I built my own system from the ground up.  But it is the best out there for pre-20th century European grand strategy IMHO.

I love the game - been playing it since 2005 (original CoG) and have been playtesting CoG:EE for many months. It's just that I'd use $5 million for other pleasures :-)
