Factory Speed vs. HQ Speed

Post by Ghstbear »

I've noticed that sometimes the speed listed for a titan in the Factory is different than the one listed in the HQ. For example, the Unicorn. It seems that the Battlefield agrees with HQ. Any further information on this?

Here it is the same in hq factory database and factory. BMT15 = 80kph

There can be a difference if you bought the titan before you cleaned up the titan database as explained in the 1.2.2 beta thread.

I am referring to looking in the database through the headquarters.  It lists the old 85 kph.  Also, on the battlefield it lists the BMT as 14.  I don't actually have this titan on any of my squads.  I am using it as a point of reference.  All of them that were corrected have this same problem.  I did use the the tmerge program.  At first it said it couldn't find the fvars.dat file, so I put a copy in the directory with it.  Then I ran it and corrected all the speeds (tmerge -1 X.tos).  I noticed it hadn't modified the fvars.dat so I didn't put a copy in my other directory.

It is still a blip that the HQ and Battle do not agree with the Factory.

If you could help that would be nice, but I can live with it if it's hard problem.

Sorry, don't know what went wrong but I get BM 15 in all modules. Btw recon titan speeds were not changed at all.

You do not need copy of fvars.dat in the titans folder ! I assume you use the latest 1.2.2m patch with tmerge.exe in titans folder and fvars.dat in configs folder.

Yes, I did.  Did you use tmerge from the command prompt?  I'm not sure when the change was made to the speeds, but somewhere along the way it didn't quite work with mine.  The tmerge did claim to update them.  Oh well.  It would have been nice to have everything agree.

To get in sync try the following :

1. Double check that there is a tmerge.exe, date 10th of may, in your titans folder.
2. Double check that there is NO fvars.dat in your titans folder.
3. Double check that there is a fvars.dat, date 10th of may, in your configs folder.
4. Go to your titans folder and run tmerge again with tmerge -s -1 1.tos up to tmerge -s -1 5.tos.

Thanks LarkinVB,
I didn't realize just tmerge -1 x.tos would not actually make any modifications.  It only reviews the file, right?  The -a option corrects the ammunition. (What is the energy weapon correction?)  -m cost, -p armor, -w weight, -s speed.  You can use all of these in the same command line.  How does -f work?  Does it overwrite the current fvars.dat?  When is that needed?

Anyway, everything is in sync now.  Thanks for your help.

-f is just for me. Don't touch it [;)]

There is no need to correct energy weapons.
