I started to do just the same! I was keeping it until the deadline, but then I was always a bit late. By sending it right away I have taken care of most of the problem.

Wow. That went fast. I was expecting a rolling succession of "Turn In" announcements. Turn was due Wednesday morning, Czech time...right?
Anyway, Sweden T19 in too.

[X(] 25,000 losses storming Copenhagen!
Well, at least I have trained recruits ready to stand in. But that hurts! Those weren't militia in there!
But I still have to say, this is the most fun I have had gaming since 1988.

RE: PBEM 1A
Yeah. 63,000. I think there were 30,000 guys in there! Well, at least he has a ton of replacements trained and ready to go. I hadn't realized the staying power of a well garrisoned fort with non-militia units in it. He should have had Vauban with him.
France is so flexible, that's a loss they can easily overcome. It would take a quick concentration of forces to knock any single enemy out of the game for Napoleon. He's a lucky, "well endowed" man.

HiHi
For accuracies sake the figuers read
Hamburg succesfully stormed
Russian dead 16,921 french dead 63,586
Copenhagen failed assault
Russian dead 9,424 Swedish dead 24,260
Sheeee, and these guys think they are gonna take Moscow! [:-]
Actully Bill you are lucky I was thinking of leaving the whole army in Hamburg, but thought it more prudent to move it back to Russia for the defence of the Motherland; still, there's a "What if?" for you [:)]
All the Best

[X(] It's a great game. I am addicted.
I love it when the unpredictable happens. Although, that is how I lost my whole fleet. For some reason when attacked it went and hid in Mecklenburg instead of at "home". But I wrote that up to very interesting events beyond my control and fit perfectly with some of the chaos of naval operations described in Adkins' "The War for All the Oceans".

RE: PBEM 1A
I wonder if it was the "guns" rating in these cities as well. I wish you could see the guns ratings. Are we walking in blind? I mean, is there any way to determine the "guns" rating for a city before you decide to assault? I believe Stockholm is now up to a guns rating of 6. I don't know anywhere to check that but on my screens. Or?
Copenhagen certainly has taught me the value of taking my time a bit more.
I have noticed that sometimes cities surrender when you siege them and "fire at the walls". Apparently a serious breach is enough to get them to do that?

Actually the funniest thing about all this, is that the French Army that lost 63k was set to "Fire at the Walls". [X(]

RE: PBEM 1A
Are you serious about that IronWarrior? Were your units really set to fire at the walls? 100% sure?
I can see some possibility that your commander was a little anxious to show off to his girlfriend, but in most cases this should not have happened then. hmmmm...
Mine, however, were set to storm the walls.

The guns rating is visible when you click on any province.
Yeah, guns add a certain percentage of damage to each garrison attack. So a high guns level would lead to more casualties on the part of the sieging force.

Cool. Wow. Lots of glory losses this turn.
Getting to 1000 for France or Britain isn't as easy as I thought it would be!
France and Prussia, did you ratify the "Baltic Stability Pact" last turn? I am asking this because I am trying to trouble shoot any issues with the game for patches.
