A really ugly airplane.
For what we are about to receive, may we be truly thankful.

Looks like a Beaufighter with a turret patched on.

The Ballingbroke was essentially a renaming of the Blenheim.  Fairchild Canada built Blenheims under license and called them Bollingbrokes.  The Blenheim had a similar tail to the Beaufighter, since they came from the same shop, Bristol.

The aircraft is either a Blenheim Mk IV or V, most likely in India.  The troops look like Sikhs.  You can just see the nose sticking forward of the engine nacelle, so it's definitely not a Mk I, which had a short nose.  I can't quite make out the shape of the nose, but it looks like it might be a Mk IV nose.

RAF Blenheim MkV, India I believe.  Looks fairly late in the war, at the point when the type had been withdrawn from front-line service and was used for secondary duties.  Quite a few were used for ferrying around medical supplies and equipment like x-ray machines.

What an ugly, piece of junk, 20mm magnet. The plane art in WITP is too generous with the thing. I suspect there was some serious air-brushing going on.

It makes the Bolo look like it was designed by Pininfarina

The Blenheim isn't ugly at all... Have you been out in the sun too much, Mandrake?

Are you guys kidding? The landing gear is ugly. The tail is ugly. The cockpit is ugly. The dorsal gun position is ugly. The engine nacelles are ugly. Even the props are ugly.

There is no cohesion of design. It looks like a Dornier fuselage stuck on a Ford Trimotor or something.

Some planes are graceful and functional (C-47 or Tristar), some are just plain beautiful (Spitfire), some are awesome (B-17E), some are firebreathing (Corsair and P-51). I don't know what category this thing would fall into. [:D]

If it fell into a category, I say "the deeper the better."

That thing is so ugly it could fly low-level combat missions without weapons - just ugliness.
