sending ships to pearl...

after how much damage makes it sense to sent ships back to pearl ?

I decided to sent lady lex to pearl with a sys damage of 18 ( just to test it out ) and found it on the shedule to arrives at pearl in 83 days....what a joke !

any ideas / comments ?

It means that the ship will be repaired (maybe also refitted) and then available in Pearl in 83 days for maybe returning in the South Pacific ... so it is not a joke

I'll send BB, CA, CL, DD, AP & AK ships back to pearl Harbour when they are damaged more than 20 (system damage)

CV's I'll keep active until they can't send any planes And before I send them back, I'll try to move all planes from them so I can keep those in active duty

Well, it is interesting to send CV back to Pearl for repairing small damages (SD between 15-25) if :
* There is another CV available at PH that could now be sent to Noumea since your commitment points have just decreased
or
* The damaged CV could also be refitted with the new AA guns (end 42)

Repairing takes time... repairing a computer takes 1 hour to 2 weeks, (depending is there spare parts available and can you fix it your self or does someone else fix it).

When repairing 33,000 tons Fleet Carrier Lexington, it might take little more time than 2 weeks to fix it. Even if there is 1000 workers repairing it

I have been thinking that possibility, but I haven't yet tested it.. computer AI has been keeping my CV task force busy.. Anyway, no Japan CV's left so only think to do is eliminate Japan BB, CA and AP ships.

It's getting booring so maybe I'll start new game with Japan side
