Saving games?

Post by blazej »

Hi,

Can the game be saved in CCTLD? I mean, during or after deployment, or during the game itself? I've played CoI in the past, and the missing save option made me very unhappy...

Best,

If you are playing an Operation or a Campaign you can save at the end of each battle.

Hi,

Thanks for the clarifications.

But can I save during deployment (say, half-way through), or after I finished deployment but before I start playing?

Best,
Michal

No, you can't do that. I personally never missed that by the way.

[X(]

There is a very simple reason why I would appreciate being able to save the game during deployment: I very rarely have the time to do deployment and play in one shot.  I am a beginner so deployment takes me quite a bit of time, especially that finding the best locations for the squads takes me lots of time due to the fact that it is not easy to determine the LOS.  So I usually end up needing more than an hour to play the game, and that is usually too long  [:(]

Will this feature ever be added to CC games???  [:(]

It's not that hard to figure out. Hide your armor vehicles behind buildings and put infantry on the roof. Also try to find good starting positions for your troops in regard to victory locations and last not least put everyone out of sight at the beginning of a new battle. Shouldn't need more than 3 min., once you're familiar with the system.

Steve McClaire can correct me if I'm wrong but I think the way the game engine works does not allow saving of games until the battle is completed.  It has to do with what information is stored in the game file and how the exe interacts with that info.  So at present there are no plans to add that feature.
