Japanese ocean hex

Post by Tristanjohn »

It would appear there's a land hex underneath this ocean graphic. I can't think of another reason why one side or the other would have a ZOC in it. Or maybe it's a known anomaly. If so, does it occur often?

This is from the stock scenario 16, hex 81,70.

Maybe it's where a troop transport sunk, and the LCU endowed it with a ZOC before drowning.[:)]

To check if there is land - press the 1 key and find out the type of terrain.

Godzilla spawn point.

Godzilla will spawn when any Allied taskforce comes within 3 hexes of this ocean hex immediately scattering the ships of the taskforce around the ocean, causing 90 system damage to each ship [:D]

I tried the "1" key and all it said was Oa, which is what we'd expect . . . except we still have the "J" to figure out.

Whatever the problem is, it's still with us in v1.5.

Yeah - Oa is supposed to be deep ocean. I DO like the idea of a Godzilla spawning ground. [:D][:'(] Of course, as i recall, Godzilla mostly whomped on the Japanese military. Perhaps this only activates after US uses the A-bomb...

Did a japanese TF start the game in that hex?

TJ, you know you're using a modded map for which Matrix/2by3 cannot be held responsible. Also, I note in your first two screenshots, the Japanese base control graphic is the "sunburst" style, while in the last screenshot, Japanese base control is reflected by the "meatball" flag.

theah's something vewwy scwewy going on awound heah.
Put my faith in the people
And the people let me down.
So, I turned the other way,
And I carry on anyhow.

This was asked a long time ago.[;)]
It was set up to facilitate the Wake invasion force, and it has no bearing or effect on gameplay.

Wow. And then the thread just mysteriously ended . . . and none of them (with the exception of Rtrapasso) were heard from again. Cleary there is something rotten in Denmark.
The x-ray is her siren song. My ship cannot resist her long. Nearer to my deadly goal. Until the black hole. Gains control...

Most of them are still around somewhere. Tristanjohn died a few years ago. Pry went on to other things. but the rest are still around some.
