This sequel to the award-winning Crown of Glory takes Napoleonic Grand Strategy to a whole new level. This represents a complete overhaul of the original release, including countless improvements and innovations ranging from detailed Naval combat and brigade-level Land combat to an improved AI, unit upgrades, a more detailed Strategic Map and a new simplified Economy option. Diplomatic Glory Penalties

Are the Glory costs for particular actions detailed anywhere in the manual and/or appendix? Im looking all over but not having much luck finding particular penalties listed for specific actions.

No, there isn't such a list available, and putting one together wouldn't be an easy thing. Perhaps we'll be able to get to it, but not in the next few weeks.

Is there a text file anywhere in the game that I could look for? I remember asking if there was a list for upgrade costs (doctrine upgrades not unit) and it was in a text file accessed by the game.

Also would it be possible, maybe even with the help of some volunteers from the forum, to come up with a board game style rule book? Im working full time and in school atm but this quarter ends 6/10 and I am likely to take the summer off and would have time to help out with that kind of thing if anyone else was interested.

As has been mentioned before, the manual is much better at teaching people how to play the game than it is at telling players exactly what the rules of the game are, or in other words the way things actually work.

I could dedicate some time to helping in this regard.  There seems to be a constant barrage of questions about the way things work that often go unanswered and even unasked.

I have a ton of questions about land/naval movement phases, their interaction, enforced peace, neutrality violation by the defeated party during an enforced peace, etc. that I dont know if anyone could answer and that arent included in any of the game documentation as far as I know.

No, there isn't a text file, which is why it's not an easy proposition -- it would involve going through the code at numerous points. Not only does that take time, but the only one who can do it is Eric, which means it takes time away from programming.

I like your rulebook idea very much, but suggest that you start a new thread for it, since a discussion in this one could easily be missed.

Mus, I agree with you on the rulebook idea.  At least it would be useful to get a lot of it done.  As Gil said, since Eric would probably would have to take time off of programming, it will be tough.  Maybe there is a way around that somehow.

Anyway, it would be useful to start another thread on this, like Gil said.  Very useful.
