1792 scenario

Post by DaveP »

Just got this game. I was a big fan of CoG, and am looking forward to CoGEE. Is the 1792 Scenario in EE the same as in COG, that is, you only get the initial bunch of generals and people like Nappy and Wellington never show up, even if you play for 20 years? If so, is anyone working on a 1792-1815 campaign with the arrival of important leaders as reinforcements? There was such a mod for CoG, and that is all I played.

If not, anyone want to offer some hints on how I would do this for myself?

Thanks so much.

But, you can mod the game so that they do.  See the Modder's Guide for a little help.

I think this ought to be addressed in a later patch. One of the most exciting things about the era was the rise of Napoleon and his clique. Starting in 1792 as it is will result in no Nappy forever which is a shame.

Hi,comrades.
I have made "COG2Generals.txt" in 1792_S,it adds Nappy and his generals from 1805 [:D]
Also,I add Wellington,Moore,Mack,Alexander_I,Bagration and Kutuzov for their nation.

They appear in nation's capital for a year(in other words,12 turn) later.

First, you backup original "C:/Matrix Games/Crown of Glory Emperor's Edition/Scenarios/1792_S/COG2Generals.txt".Then,replace this file.

Enjoy!

P.S.If you prefer other month, open text file, then change "12" number at 6th column in each additional generals.

Hey, that sounds cool.

I am curious why you added them in 1805, instead of earlier.  Does Napoleon show up in the 1792 scenario "out of the box" at all?

Just because, this 1805 Scenario has good Nappy's generals than 1796.
If you prefer more historical accuracy,I recommend you to take them from 1796 or so.

Napoleon should probably be available from 1796 onwards...the other marshals maybe later.

Yoshino, what do "12" and "59" stand for? Months until the leader is available? 12 months is 1 year, this is the 1792 scenario, so Napoleon is available in 1793? 59 is about 5 years, so those generals with "59" in that column become available in 1798?

Also noticed you did a 1805 AAR in Japanese.....maybe you can do one in English and post it here?

Yes.The sixth column shows the number of turns from which the general comes out.
59 is about 5 years, so those generals with "59" in that column become available in 1798?

No.It's actually seventh colomn. This shows the province number at which general appears(For example, 59 = Ile de France,65 = Anglia and so on).

For more infomation, please refer to the Modder's Guide of bjmorgan[;)]

Sorry,I can't write English well...So,perhaps I can't it.

Hey yoshino, your English is a whole lot better than my Japanese.  A whole lot better.
