Turkey Rocks!

This sequel to the award-winning Crown of Glory takes Napoleonic Grand Strategy to a whole new level. This represents a complete overhaul of the original release, including countless improvements and innovations ranging from detailed Naval combat and brigade-level Land combat to an improved AI, unit upgrades, a more detailed Strategic Map and a new simplified Economy option. More historical AND more fun than the original!

A good way to generate publicity for COGEE would be to do video AARs of battles and upload them to youtube. The Empire Total War ones get a lot of hits (yes they look good) but COGEE battles should excite any self respecting wargamer.

that would be a ruff vidio, it is the bells and whistles that go over, and MMO's and Flight Sims and what not work well with it, a game that is really being played in your head, is going to be HARD to come across well in a vid

Sweden falls, they just gave up, no fighting, then the Ossites fall, and then the Prussians, winter is setting in, so the world is at peace for a bit, resting up my Armies for the final battles when spring comes around

That is very impressive HARD Sarge.
My current game with Turkey which started off so wonderfully is now so screwed up I doubt anyone could recover Turkeys position of stature. I had to surrender to Austria with some rather horrendous conditions; loss of Cypress, loss of Bosnia, payment of 33% of income for a year and payment of another 1900 with 10% interest within a year.
The only bright spot in my situation is that Russia is in bad shape-I cut off and destroyed their main army one province north of Constantinople. I still control at least 6 Russian provinces. I could make a push on Russia-they have money, but no glory to be had. Turkey finances and production is stabilized, but because of the tribute to Austria its impossible to save a dime.
Its 1805 and was planing on making it to 1815, but am contemplating throwing in the towel on this one. However- I really don't like running in fear from the AI and operating at such a disadvantage could be very educational. The pain of defeat has benefits-educational anyway.

BTW, I'm wondering what could occur if (when, actually) the treaty period is over and Turkey has not paid the treaty dictated amount to Austria?
Banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies.

it should be a major hit to your Glory numbers

plus, it may be another war with the Evil Ossties

Russia can be a HARD nut to crack, with out alot of money to buy supplies, the supply line is going to be nasty, maybe you will get lucky and Moscow will get bored and give up

my game was half way done when the patch came out for testing, so the 2nd half, Turkey is a little bit easier to run, but all in all, it has been a interesting game, even more so, since I am used to being France and doing what I want, when I want all the time

of course, I wouldn't be who I am, if I had left my backside open to the French, I had over 200,000 men resting, in Garrison, along the French Borders

I am to cause pain

(of course, I can talk smack, I got 160,000 troops waiting for the call, if I get out skilled)

I take out some Garrisons on the march in, Maul one of the swiss Guards, but they rally and come back, I maul them again, and again, they rally, I slaughter them before they get a chance to rally for the 4th time, but they held up my advance, I put some pain on other troops, but not enough to break anyone, but I am close to my battle zone, the kill zone is going to be nasty

again and again, they stand to the vollies being fired into there ranks, most die standing at there colors

I was wrong, these are better men then the Frenchmen of old, too bad there will never be many old Frenchmen to remember this day of glory

and still they refuse to break

Looks like you've been feasting on enemy artillery.  I seldom ever have to build any of my own, except early in the game if I'm desparate.
Occasionally, and randomly, problems and solutions collide. The probability of these collisions is inversely related to the number of committees working on the solutions. -- Me.

as I said, I was rushing to hit Moscow before the snows fell

but the French came back, another bloody battle for Paris, but they didn't have any staying power left, they lost that on the field of battle last month

the Grands are down to about 30,000 men

then the battle for Moscow

3 Inf and 2 Guns and 14 Cav, heads are going to roll, I tell you, heads are going to roll !

what, the Sultan set this army up himself ?

well, he knows what he is doing

tell the prince, I need him to take a message back home, yes, right now, I know a battle is about to start, but this is importent, yes, more importent then some silly battle

(trust me, you will thank me later)

a few hours later

they got how many guns ? 2 heavy and 2 normal

what is wrong with our Cav, these Russians kept brushing them aside as if they were not there, Heavies and Lancers, I don't care, we got some of the fineist Turkomen light Cav in the area, yes, yes, I know there are not many Turkomen from around Moscow, get out of my tent

will someone tell the Sultan to stop screaming when him rides around in a circle, it is scaring the horses, yes, you can be polite about it

Jagers and Guards, Heavies and Lancers, Heavy Guns, we are getting slaughtered out here

yes, protect the guns, I don't care how many losses you are taking, protect the guns, one those fall, we are finished

how many charges is that ? 8 ? 9 ? and not one gun has been overran

Sir, the Poles, they just overran one of the Guns, the side of there line has broken, one of there Heavies has turn to take the Poles in the flank, our Inf has managed to pour some heavy vollies into them, they are breaking

yes, the gun to the North, the enemy is piling up in front of them, if not for the small river, they would of been overran hours ago, and the Southern gun has become uncovered and is slaughtering the russian Squares, if they can break them, our Cav will be able to explot there flank

the tide is turning, but they are still not breaking
