Landing at Balikpapan was bloodier than expected. Mines sunk an APD and seriously damaged some DDs. 3 Minesweepers were sunk by AC and several may sink due to CD guns. It looks like I will need to redirect some resources to take the base. At least the minefield has been cleared so I can run bombardment TFs in without fear of hitting mines.

Quiet turn overall. Gordon is pulling units out of Samirindia into Balikpapan to avoid them being cut off. I have orfered a hasty attack for next turn. I doubt it will succeed but I need to take the chance.

Subs in the PI Sea have been attacked by naval AC so the KB must be in the area. It has not been spotted so I don't know which direction it is going.

1st attacks at Baliakpapn went better than expected.

Attack at Butuan took the base but only destroyed a single base unit. Gordon pulled off a Dunkirk with barges.
[:@] Now I will have to go after the fragments at Tacloban and Omroc

The KB has arrived just West of Truk. Cost me a few bombers to find this out. Since I don't which way it will go next turn all units within a 20 hex range are scattering and running for cover.

Baliakpapen fell and Samarinda should fall within a week. Then I have to decide which way to go next.

Surface raid on Petropavlosk bagged 2 DDs and 2 MSWs for th loss of 1 DD. Sadley they did not get through to the troop transports and there are now over 27K troops there. This may force a change of plans.
