Embarking/Disembarking

This sequel to the award-winning Crown of Glory takes Napoleonic Grand Strategy to a whole new level. This represents a complete overhaul of the original release, including countless improvements and innovations ranging from detailed Naval combat and brigade-level Land combat to an improved AI, unit upgrades, a more detailed Strategic Map and a new simplified Economy option. More historical AND more fun than the original!

Embarking/Disembarking

Post by 06 Maestro »

I am having some difficulty in moving ground units by ship. Somehow, I got the main Swedish Army to get on board the fleet-it took me two years to get them off. I ended up building another army unit and had everything auto assigned to it.

I cannot find anything in the rules about this. Any help would be appreciated.

Maestro,

1) Load your troops onto the ships.  To do this the troops/divisions/army/corps containers must be in the same provence as the fleets.
2) Move your ships to the target sea zone as necessary.
3) Once there, open the fleet container by right clicking on it.  Next to all your ships, you will also see the armies it is escorting (historically mostly in additional transports, but this is abstracted to prevent it from becoming a "War in the Pacific").  Select the land units you will wish to disembark to an adjacent land provence by left clicking on the units/armies/corps.  Once selected, you can close the fleet container (it remembers which ones were selected) and then you can hover your mouse over adjacent regions and where eligible, the mouse will change to an "UNLOAD" symbol with an arrow.  Left click to give the order to disembark.

Voila.

1803 Std scenario simple eco (still that d***d learning curve :( ). Spain is an ally.

I have a corps in Naples. After the spanish and all other french fleets were virtually wiped off in trying to bring Combined Fleet togehter I have no choice than heading east. Villeneuve moves from Toulon to Adritaic. Since Naples I do not own  (poor Neapolitans complain about my presence monthyl ;) ) how can I embark my troops?

BTW is there a way to combine allied Units / conatiners? I don minde if I have to relegate them to my ally but alone no french or spanich fleet stands a chance against the royal navy. I rather lose (for the duration of the alliance) 10-20 SOLs than to feed them to the britons. Or at least let me see where my allies are heading so that I can join.

THX in adnvance.

I was not playing EE too much but from what I saw in manual and some posts, this did not changed from CoG so ...no, you cant combine with allied fleets or load troops on them. Would be nice if there was some king of naval rally point at last as there is one for ground armies.

You can only embark in an allied or friendly port.  In other words, if your fleet can't land at that port, you're stuck.  Your options are to either march your troops home violating neutrality if you have to, or conquer a minor near you and then use the port or get an ally near you so you can use the port.
