Minor question about Japanese Flying Sub

Post by ItBurns »

If you are playing with the carrier air units and optional CV searching does this unit still get a search bonus? It can't hold an air unit and therefore has no air unit range.

It was published in 2003 in CS38, as part of the CoiF kit (Convoys in Flames).
It is the SUB with the 0 in a purple square below.

So is it armed with bombs or torpedoes? [:D]

I predict it will be one of the most looked-up write-ups.

P.S. I know, it launched a plane for recon....mostly.

The sub's max altitude was 120 meters; max duration was 75 seconds. On landing it was destroyed, hence its nickname as kamikaze-sub.

Is the Free French cruiser-sub Surcouf (float-plane and 8-inch guns) included in the game?  If so, Patrice, I would love to have its counter as my avatar.

No, unfortunately it's not.
On the other hand, the Surcouf is a lone ship, while there were a number of Japanese SUBs with a floatplane.
