Why is this?

Commander – Europe at War Gold is the first in a series of high level turn based strategy games. The first game spans WW2, allowing players to control the axis or allied forces through the entire war in the European Theatre.

Why is this?

Post by LarryP »

Why is it that when I make decisions in the Resource allotment menu, if I change my mind about selecting an option, I get charged production points? I should have free reign until I close this dialog box. Seems to me that making choices should not stick until I close out. However, being charged to change my mind?!

It is warm here, about 82 today and will be 85 Friday. It was in the 90's last week!

As far as how the game plays? I don't know, I got charged production points when I went to change an option and so I quit the game for now. Made me mad. So I can't answer your question either. [;)]

LarryP,

So you mean you purchased a military unit then could not undo it?  I think that is just the way it is *ponders* I know when I do purchasing unless I HAVE to purchase a garrison for a threatened city, I always do repairs, then consider labs, then at the last purchase new units.  Although I will admit I at times will repair up until I have say 101 left then go purchase a submarine for 100, then repair a final unit so I can get to -8 or whatever.

If your speaking on labs, I know I got irked at having purchased a lab and thinking.. Oh I don't want to do that, and clicking the down arrow. Unfortunately all purchases are final, but since you can sell labs for half price, if you buy one then think better of it, you have to pay 50%

So you just have to be very careful about your purchases!

Mike;

This is in the Resource menu. I clicked a tank option and then wanted to back out, and it charged me I think 6 pp's. Why in the world should I get charged for changing my mind before I even close the frigging dialog box?! Not only do I play against the AI, now I play against myself too?! I don't play games that do these things and I won't be playing this one either.

As production times are rather short you could argue it simulates a misjudgement years previously - in the end if this how the game plays think carefully before clicking! It's similar to the fact you can only move once so if you don't recon you get a nasty surprise!
