Well, I may not be"aware" as you say but apparently very few others were as well so I'm far from alone on this one. Just seems like a lot of spin to me but whatever. I'll live but will have to rethink buying physical CD's in the future, not worth the extra $10 without the manual.

It's clear to me that this was unclear to far more customers than I realized. We'll see what we can do to improve our communications on that.

As far as deciding to purchase a physical copy or not, now that you know just look for the logo. If it's "Digital Express" then for what you want just getting the download makes sense. If it's "Standard" or "Collector's" then you'll get the manual you want.

We've definitely heard the response here and as I said above, we'll make sure the next CC release has a printed manual like the previous ones.

Regards,

- Erik

That manual being inside that CC case was on the same par as the sun rising everyday!

Sorry again guys. We made a decision on this release - first we felt from past releases that most of the CC owners were already quite familiar with the series. Second, we felt that there was a lot of overlap between the new and previous manuals, so we felt that it made sense to get you all the game sooner and go with the PDF E-Book manual rather than waiting 4-6 weeks for a print run. The manual is good, but I don't think it covers that much new ground for CC players.

I'll say this - we hear you now and the next release will once again have a printed manual.

Regards,

- Erik

I dont know what it is about thous manuals, but for some reason they seem to have some Biblical value to me within the first month or so of getting the game. I find myself reading, and re-reading them even thou as you point out not a lot has changed over the past few releases. I have a Lab, that loves to destroy paper. Hes got hold of both the WaR and CoI manuals on more then one occasion, outside of just a few tooth marks and the fact its in a diffrent location from were I had last placed it, he hasnt destroyed them(maybe he likes reading them too?). I think the only reason why is he knows I will KILL him if he does!

I will NOT open my physical copy (just got it today) of TLD to avoid the pain others have experienced. I'll just tell myself there is a manual inside the one you guys sent me. [:)]

We got the holy grail of CC remakes coming up in ABTF. For the Love of God, my dog, and all the other diehards please consider doing somethg special for that game in the form of a printed manual. I can tell you right now I have no problems paying EXTRA either for it since ive been paying extra everytime as it is now to get discs that never leave the plastic case.

Thanks for caring Erik, it lessons the pain!

Gz...

The first "official" Collector's Edition with a Color Manual will be the War in the Pacific: Admiral's Edition release this summer.

Woohoo!! Will we get Allied and Japanese ultra collectors editions like as discussed on the board a year or two ago?!

Regarding ABTF - I think that would be a great first CC game to release as a collectors edition. Charge more for it - I think everyone who has played any CC game would buy it given the reputation the original CC2-ABTF has. Matrix makes some coin - and I get a cool 'collector's box' on my shelf-o-many-games.

Ok I'll stop bitching..lol Most other games I wouldn't say a word but CC is different. I'll go along with what a couple others have said...if any game deserves a Collector's Edition it's CC2: A Bridge too Far...sold more than any of the series and left me with the fondest memories. So hoping you will do the re-make right...no pressure or anything...lol.

With 2 games out and 1 on the way (Im assuming ABFT from what Ive read here)
Why not just do away with the manuals and see if we could get something like this instead to cover all 3 of the new releases? I have all 3 books and they are much more fun to read, own, possese than a flimsy manual.
I work for a printer, why not give the Co. I work for a shot on a quote?
Times are tuff for printers all over,it should be an easy time to get it done fairly cheap.
