USMC M4a2's with diesel engines...a 37mm AT gun, and Gyrenes, one being a F/O for close support(with the marker on his back?)....

 Image source indicates that these are 7th ID  troops, pictured during the Marshals campagine, the exact island is not mentioned. Aparently the Red and White Checkerd Panels on their backs are Air/Ground marker panels intended to reduce casualties from friendly fire.
