Nicely posed propaganda photo..., but it totally lacks the soul of the Iwo Jima Flag-raising.

Nicely posed propaganda photo
So was Iwo Jima flag-Raising....but it did stir up things for the US and the stars and strips. just like i like to do...When it came to propaganda the US won hands down..because there propaganda still has not stopped from WW2.Winners make history loses are lost in it.

Actually it was. It was the 2nd flag raising and it was done with a bigger flag and a photographer just for the purpose of it.

It was a second flag raising because one of the commanders wanted a bigger flag. However, it wasn't done for the photographers sake, and the photographer nearly missed the shot. He didn't even know that he got that one until he was told about it later. He did take a staged picture with about 20 men standing in front of the flag. When he was asked about whether the picture was staged, he thought they were referring to this second picture and he answered yes. It was only later that he realized that the picture that was making all the fuss was the one he took on the fly and thought he had missed. I read about this in several sources and saw a documentary about it around the time that Flags of our Fathers came out.
