Sept44 update

The US is successfully taking base after base at New Guinea and tries to retake Darwin.

At least the Japs are allowed to start Kamikaze in the next turns [:D]

It came as a surprise that kamikaze came that late (September), but I never played the game that late anyway. So, my BB TF came under attack which finished in 1DD sunk, 2CA and 1BB damaged.
I must be more careful now. But with no CV available it may be a little difficult.

Anyway, Darwin, almost whole Guinea plus Iwojima, Bonin, Marcus taken. Time to make a second attempt at Philiphines soon.

Sounds like Zeke is doing a good job of holding territory -- kamikazes only become active when the "inner defense perimeter" (places like Saipan) is breached. What is the current score? And beware of the "kill point multiplier" when 1945 starts.

While zamli was bussy in the south the Japs re-took Marcus and Bonin Isl. [:D]

The next turn was kind of funny.

While the US retook Marcus and Bonin, the Japs retook Iwo [;)]

There was some heavy BBTF fighting, with 2 Jap BB down. Most disappointing, the long lances did not perform [:@]

zeke is doing really good with air defense; one could think that after such heavy air losses there should be few planes to defend, but there are much more....

I am learning through this game. If only zeke will accept a next one with me playing Americans again and using this knowledge, well...... [8D]

it seems most of zeke's fighters are detached to defending home cities against my heavy bombing raids; Tokyo should already be in ruins with its buildings and industry; now Nagoya's turn [8D]

Update 12/25/44 , an Xmas surprise

The Allies depleted Alaska of all troops able for transport. As revenge for the Davao and Cagaya (base not taken) the Japs decided to take Anchorage and land in Juneau (base not taken).

In the Philippines only the US Army and AF is fighting. The loses of most of the US CVEs and 1CV made the Navy wimps look for save bases instead of helping their comrades [:D]

Well. Naval support is not enitrely necessary when land and air forces do the job As a consequence Davao is cleared of Japanese forces and the aim is Cagayan.

All bases in the Salomon Archipelago taken.

How is industry and production in Nagoya? [:D]

Whatever is left of Zeke's airforce is insignificant after my air offensive.... however due to my 2 mistakes I already lost my portion of CV, CVL and CVE's... never again - I hope I have learned

After been lured into a false sense of security, the insignificant Japanese Air Force just sunk 30 ships, most of these AP's [:D]
When my calc's are correct US shipping capacity for 2 InfDivs was lost [8D]

Wow - 30 APs [X(] What was your weapon of choice - Kamikaze, Okha or Long Lances?

Just 30 ships down, about 18AP/APA (General, Bay, Admiral, Henderson class), in total 2400 transport point, rest MCS, DE, DD, 1 CLAA [:)]

The game gives not much to choose from. The success came mainly by Kamis, Okha was not available then.

That was another lesson I have learned - not to leave ships in ports when in war zone. Anyway, I still have enough AP to do the job. But number of your planes simply must come to an end. You are loosing about 1000 per turn and even 2.4k during the last one. Estimated production of your planes may be 300-400 per turn. Not sure if even that much due to losses to your factories at Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka [8D]
