Vickers MG team not showing weapon.

Vickers MG team not showing weapon.

Hi playing gc/online with 5.50.1b and noticed on Pegasus Bridge that the Vickers team info only showed rifles.

[left]Franzauk, did you get the beta patch and install it?  If so it's necessary to restart any ongoing campaigns or operations as old data can be introduced into the game file that is no longer current.  Since the data files were updated re; Vickers icon this is likely the case.  Let me know if you downloaded the beta patch.[/left]

I see your are playing as a client, as all your men are listed as «soldier» in the soldier icon box, instead of leader, gunner, loader, etc. What's the matter with the client? CCV was full of bug regarding this. Is it inherent to the game engine? Is there any way to fix this?

Hello,

I hope you are kidding about having to restart. Is it just having to deal with a few issues like the MG team only having rifles in some BGs, or will it eventually mean the game will crash at some point because of old data?

Not good news about the restart of grand campaign if beta patch is installed. Can a Admin/Dev give a definitive answer on this issue please?

Chalk it up to lessons learned, guys. Never expect saved ops and camps to work correctly with patches or updates unless it is specifically stated that those will not be effected. Some data changes will adversely effect saved games, some minor data changes won't. An .exe change could make save games unplayable. This patch is only a Beta. There might be another Beta version.

In the future, make a full copy of the game. It can be pasted anywhere, but in the C:\Matrix Games folder is best for keeping track. Rename it Close Combat The Longest Day Beta Patch, or CC TLD Beta Patch or whatever suits you. Send new shortcuts to your Desktop. You can have multiple copies on your machine to use for modding testbeds without screwing with the ones you use to play on.

Keep your vanillia install for finishing your games or playing H2H against those that haven't installed it. Patch the copy, delete any saved games and start again. Once the official patch is release, delete the beta copies (just let them go and try not to grieve), make another copy of the vanilla and patch it. Keep a vanilla and Patched version for those times when you find an opponents that hasn't patched yet and those that have. Give that a few months, then delete the vanilla to recover the drive space.

Hmm...looks like CC addicts share the same 'habits'.
Here's a screenshot of what Drill's talking about [;)]
And I also have special folders where I keep all the extracted little gadget files from most of the CC releases and major mods...ready for easy access...but I'm not gonna show you those [:'(]
