Hi All
1st game pbem, stock, fully patched, playing as allies.
Would someone please tell me if I will be able to load oil at Sahklin, assuming I am able to sneak a US tanker in there undeteceted? If it is posible, I assume this would generally be regarded as v. gamey? No historical precedent and non agression pact in effect, not to mention Japanese garison at Karafuto on the south of the island. Add to that I don't seem to be short of supply, however, my opoent is cunning and (long-term UV player) experienced and will take every opportunity to ruin my day, so I'm just exploring the options (and using engineers to destroy oil in SRA as I get forced out)[8D]. I'm more worried about removing the oil from his sphere of influence, than using it myself.
Nobody ever defended anything successfully, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.

You can't load or unload at Soviet ports unless the Soviets are activated... just the way the game is designed.

Thanks.

I hadn't thought of unloading. Does that mean the Japanese cannot launch amphib attacks? Only across the border?

Hmmm. Has anyone tried unloading in a non port hex? A Raider Btn yomping across tundra to take the Manchuko garrison in the flank might make the IJA HIgh Command think twice about redeploying Kwangtung units into China.

Don't know about that - many (most?) games have rules against loading at non-base hexes... but i doubt a Raider battalion is going to deter the Japanese from redeploying since they have to keep a LOT of AV in Manchuria to deter Uncle Joe Stalin from declaring war on them - and the Russians can deploy a LOT more than a battalion.

The Japanese can invade - the Allies can not unload or load in Soviet bases until activated - i didn't qualify it more since it you stated you are playing the Allies.
