Connectivity?

This sequel to the award-winning Crown of Glory takes Napoleonic Grand Strategy to a whole new level. This represents a complete overhaul of the original release, including countless improvements and innovations ranging from detailed Naval combat and brigade-level Land combat to an improved AI, unit upgrades, a more detailed Strategic Map and a new simplified Economy option. More historical AND more fun than the original!

Connectivity?

Post by Grand_Armee »

Hi guys!
I've been away for a while. Old PC died...saved up for a new one...etc. But earlier I'd given up on CoG because we were always unable to connect with more than one other person at a time. Seven players at once? Never happened. Reinforcing armies was another connection issue.
I really liked the game. It had great potential.
So, tell me. With the Emperor's edition have all of these connectivity issues been resolved? Has anyone managed a multiplayer online session, yet? You'll have to pardon me for being lazy...I really don't want to read through a ton of postings to find out.

Thanks...in advance.

Here's a thread in which this issue is discussed: tm.asp?m=2051846

I know of someone who took part in eight-player games with the original COG, so it was possible, though not with every system.

If you have a new computer it is completely possible that the problems you had experienced with the old one will be gone, but there's no way to guarantee it. The best test would be to install original COG on it and see if you can play a networked game -- if that works, COG:EE should also work. But like that thread says, we do not officially support TCP/IP with COG:EE, so you'd be taking a gamble if you buy the game only for playing on a network.
