OK whats happened

So far so good - only problem the Japanese werent trying to fight I was attacking more or less empty bases - I was suckered.
 
In Burma looks like the AI has 2 Divs dug in at Imphal - That means I will need 4 to shift them - I dont have 4 I can commit.
 
Akyab looks like it has a couple of Divs a s well Cox Bazaar was an empty sack

Oh and after one stalled offensive by the militia men of the NZ Bdes (only one Bde was from 3rd NZ Div the others were home defence Bdes) I sent an Amercal RCT in to support em they have started marching up to Kourmac again.

Next job get aircover and base forces into Luganville and then go for Lunga

My Carriers are going to hit Baker Island 1st in support of the landing there and then head to New Cal for the next attack on Lunga

I haven't been reading the reorts in any real detail - sooo much information, and you're cranking it out faster than I can read it.

Do I see that the Japanese have invaded Midway, have invested most of the New Hebrides, as well as Canton and Baker Islands? Very aggressive, which will make the early war very challenging for the Allied human player.

Is the AI stout enough to know these are outposts and to not defend these too hard? I've got a concern that the AI is programmed to be aggessive and expand, which will result in nothing more than the Japanese getting over-extended. This could permit the Allied player an easier march back because the Japanese main defensive line has been too weakened to man these forward bases.

I have beaten the forum  into submission with data overload ....
 
9 months of turns in a week !!!
 
I am not good at pretty pictures but in general with me being passive I think the Ai has done ok.
 
That raid on Ceylon was nasty and shredded the RAF's few Hurricane Sqns.
The capture of Imphal leaves me with a nasty problem as there are c 2 IJA Divs at both Akyab and Imphal and I will need to uncover something vital in order to kick em out.
 
What this has proven to me is that India is more vulnerable in AE than I probably realised despite the large numbers of units in India the scale of what you need to cover and the raw ability of the early Japanese Divs to defeat militia and lower xp allied troops means that an Allied player will still need to watch India carefully.
 
I have 4 Bdes on Ceylon and I worry about it.
2 Divs building up at Madras
3 British and about 3 Indian Divs in or around Assam/Calcutta
 
I have lots of smaller garrison forces but thats the bulk of my mobile force and a lot of the firepower has only just arrived.
 
Overcommitting to Burma or Java will leave India vulnerable unless you decide to send the Aussies to India

Also, I think you said you're playing on "Hard." Are there still three victory levels, as in stock? (Historical, Hard, Very Hard.) Do they mean the same thing? At Hard, the AI gets logistical advantages but no combat advantages?

1. Ummm the AI uses what it has and for some rear area forces that must be garriosned it borrows them from other restricted commands <whistles innocently> (the AI does not use PP's instead some units are just free issue to it)
2. Actually it follwos the rules on supplies there is a small fuel cheat for TF's to avoid them being crippled by out of fuel but in general the AI plays by the same rules you do.
3. Yes more or less it doesnt stockpile the way a player will but it does ok
4. Please try it - pretty please (remember what I said about borrowed forces from restricted commands its not overly evident in the initial expansion - it becomes quite apparent if you try that kind of behavious early on [:-][:-][:-] - remmeber LAND MINES
5. 6 and 7 - No, Not reported and yes inf destroyed as well

Grotius no combat benefits on harder difficulty levels there are a few economic benefits for the AI especially in aircraft production and R&D

p.s. remember I am constantly tweaking the AI file to try and make it better.
 
One of the main challenges is to NOT make the AI overextend.
 
If the AI overextends it dies - folks want the AI to invade all of India or all of Australia will result in a very short game.
