To be exact the M4A3R3 Sherman 'Zippo'

This is also most likely Iwo Jima, as this is where they were intially deployed.

Is that a deflated party balloon draped on the rock overhang on the upper left? Guess the party was over for the IJA by that point, eh?

How about: a horrible way to die. I have the utmost respect for the Bushido Spirit of the Japanese soldiers in WWII, but man, this hold out to the very last man attitude forced the Allies to develop tactics that are brutal by any standard

Don't know... the way the light is reflecting of the front hull it almost looks like its a composite hull late M4 Sherman. It has a low bussel turret, solid roadwheels and extended end connectors. Definitely late war given the rotating commander's cupola. I'd say Okinawa.

Dang - its been a long time and I don't remember my variants anymore!!!![:@]

Hmmmm... I don't know, but the look of the foward hull sure does look like an M4 Composite as opposed to the -A3 hull.

If you notice, the light reflecting of the top off the applique side armor plate is shorter than the shadow cast by the lower portion of the plate.

Nah, this is the way to light a barbecue: http://www.bkinzel.de/misc/ghg/index.html

Scroll down a bit for the story.

I am so tempted to do this...
