Dunes

Post by Obsolete »

I ran up one of the Israeli scenarios this evening. My problem with dunes is that I couldn't get anything to drive over them. Even.. the bloody tanks wouldn't do it. (is that even realistic?)

On the flip-side, the Arab nations were able to take anything and everything in stacks and run it around the dunes with ease.

I'm not sure if this is some sort of bug/exploit or did I miss something?

Thanks for your info.

Motorized movement across Dunes isn't allowed. You can check which units are motorized in the Unit Report box. Not sure which scenario you are playing, but maybe the Arabs have Foot Movement units that are able to cross the Dunes.

Hmm, I'll keep a look at that.  I thought I could use the Dunes as a block-hex and tried to force a big stack to retreat, thus expecting it to force into a surrender.  Instead, the units all piled over the dunes and I couldn't even persue them! $%@#$^%  I don't think ALL of them were mobilized, so maybe they are entitled to retreat to these restricted hexes.

That sort of blew up a lot of planning, etc. and caused me some issues.  I'll give the scenario another go soon.
