HI Shaun,
I am trying to download the setup file and it appears that the download is stopping around 74mb, instead of the 210mb listed. Any ideas of why this might be?

during install, I keep hanging up on the wowctl2dll
I have downloaded and installed it 3 times, each time it hangs here, once I close that out, it says the installer is curruprt if I try to reinstall with it

For me, downloading the setup file failed the first time, but worked the second time.
The install worked without any problems. I'm checking things out now. I'll post with more news later.

first bust
Game fails when attempting to create a new fictional league - Run-time error '76': Path not found. I was attempting to create a PureSim Classic association.
I have converted my existing association and am simming at the moment. But, I'd rather start new with all the new additions to the game.

Same failure when attempting to create a new real players career mode game - Run-time error '76': Path not found.
Same thing with creating a new Sandbox mode game. Maybe this is where the problem is. In Sandbox mode, I can get to the association menu, but when the game attempts to generate players for the draft, it fails with the error 76.

Hey Mates ... I'm wondering what kind of PCs and and WINDOWs you mate are using ... as far as on my Dell and XP, the PS07 is running smoothly along with my current Association dating from the 1902 era, including the new tweaks ... however, in order to understand in what happening to you, Dave, I recreated a new Association from 1947: using fictional league with real players 0f "47" - everything is fine ... until I hit a snagged!! ... I was trying to create a player - the error popped up saying type mismatched - all I did was hit a button to create a player ... then the program just shutdown ... hmmm, Shaun??? any help?? - aside from that my current Association is doing fine ...

Windows XP SP3 on a Dell Latitude X300 Notebook.
I wonder if my problem has to do with the fact that I installed PureSim on the Z drive, instead of the default C drive?
Anyway, I'm going to completely uninstall PureSim, then install fresh with RC3. I'll post the results soon.

Hey Shaun - the culprit is reading "run time error #13" every time I tried to create a player for both the prior and the new Associations, then the software shut down ... However, to create existing players is running fine ... How's going with your end, Dave?

Jeez louise. I was within one minute of the d/l completing, and the power flashed off. Starting over.
My standard startup for testing will be a historical 1939 association, with 40-man rosters, 4-man rotations, financials ON, and historical parks/logos.
Notes on my customized game startup: I always create a shortcut directly to PureSim2k7.exe, bypassing the default opening screen. In "Options", I DISABLE screen transition sounds and fireworks graphics. I also added different music for many of the info menus.
General recommendations: my PC is 6 years old with just a 40 GB primary HD, so after installing each new RC, I immediately run CCleaner and defrag the machine.

Still no luck here. I uninstalled the copy which was installed on my Z drive and reinstalled everything with default settings. When attempting to create a new association, when the game tries to generate fictional players or import real players, it chokes with the path not found error.
Shaun, maybe you can tell me where the game is looking for the players and I can tell you if that installed or not.

Hey Dave ... Just curious, Do you still have the original 1.72? ... If you do and had no problem with it, try reinstall that with default setting and go through a season or two then install the 1.74 game? ... just go through step by step elimination of which is causing problem with your pc setup ... any ideas mates out there ...

Hey KG ... That's exactly what I did before and after installing the game ... and exactly the same setup except I have mine started at "47" ... is your season doing ok with finances on and close to that year salary? ... just curious ...

My first guess with Dave is that the registry might be bogged up, what with PS first being installed on the Z drive and then installed on the C drive. I'd recommend d/l CCleaner (it's free) and run the "clean registry" portion. Just a thought.

Tomas, I'll keep you posted on the status. I might not have a follow-up until sometime tomorrow, though. We'll see how much more I can squeeze in today.

Tomas, I started setting up the league and the power failed again (we're having some popup storms today). I'll have to get back to you.

Maybe so. Thanks for the tip.
