Did the pak 43 exist out of two guns?

Someone else please correct me if I'm wrong but I think it was the marriage of a 88mmPaK43 gun and the carriage from the 15cm(5.9in)sFH18 howitzer and the trail legs from the 105mm (4.13in)leFH18 Field Howitzer.  Hence the name given.
 
As for the icons that looks like a bug.  I think if the assistant is in the process of assisting the action graphic will say "assisting" with no weapon icon showing.  That's how it should be.  Looks like he was possibly the gunner prior to becoming unconcious and Muller became the gunner but Fritsches' graphic never got updated.  It's possible this is intentional though since a gunner and assistant can be manning the same gun... which is what the two graphics is representing... the same gun.  Will have to check if it's a bug or not.  I agree it's confusing and likely a bug.

Isn't 41 the length of the barrel times its diameter ie 41x88mm (the same as the Pather gun was 75 L71) and Pak 43 the model number?

The answer about two graphics showing up has to do with the fact that the main gunner is stunned.  If he was listed as incap or KIA the graphic would disappear for him.  Additionally if he came back to conciousness the second gun would disappear for Muller since he would retake his position as "assistant" and Fritsche would return to "gunner".

It's the tale of two different 8.8cm PaKs...one had a cruiform mount and low profile and could rotate 360'(and it wasn't a FlaK 41 but a true purpose built ATG), and the other was a wheeled carriage mount.
