Trying to hunt a worthy, large D-Day Campaign or Mega-Campaign

Post by Kaio23 »

Any suggestions? I try to make up my own campaigns, linking some 1944 missions together including Ramelle, but it isn't cutting it. Any good D-Day campaigns out there?

You don't have to look any further than "Utah to the Rhine" - U2R - by none other than the master Wild Bill, simply open Campaign and start playing. You start at St. Mere Eglise and fight your way across Europe. When you are finished, you can fight the Soviets in "The Victors" campaign, also by Wild Bill.

If you choose airborne as your core infantry make sure they have the M9 bazooka - AFAIK this has been fixed in v7.1, but there might be a glitch or two along the way.

If the Aux airborne in St. Mere Eglise do not have the M9 zook, edit the scen to make sure they do. If you find the Aux with the older zook and want to edit, post a message and instrucitons will follow - not difficult to do, no point in posting it if you are not going to play U2R.

I've played U2R completely through three times and loved it every time.

Or, you can play Long Long Road to Victory! It takes three Campaigns (Preparing the Way, Utah to Rhine, and The Victors (Hard Version)), and combines them so you can go from '42 till '45 through Africa, Sicily, D-Day, France, and Germany.

And, Bill wrote all three of them, so they are quite good!
