Most fun I have had in years

Post by puresimmer »

First thanks for all the testing and interest in PureSim.

I am so energized right now, enjoying working on the game like the old days. It's interesting, by going freeware I feel like I have rekindled my creative fires. It feels great and I am likely going to hammer away at the free version for years to come.

Thanks again, and it feels great to be "back."

That's part of being an artist. Sometimes you just don't want to do it any more, but every now and then it hits you how much you enjoy the creative process. I think that any one born with that inherent trait can never truly let go of it.

I understand this. It's been 11 years since I last played in a band, but I keep my amp set up in the living room. Once a week or so, I pull out the bass guitar and play along with some favorite CDs. I then start wondering, "why did I quit?" I look at that 2x15" cabinet, which I used to have to lug around to gigs every weekend (we didn't have any roadies), and then remember , "oh yeah, THAT's why I don't miss it".

In any case, I'm certainly happy that you have the "itch" again, Shaun.

I hear ya, KG! It looks like I've allowed myself to be talked back into getting another musical project going with some old partners. Why can't I just let myself grow old in peace??? That will cut into my baseball simming time!

This freeware approach reminds me a lot of modding. Some of us, in addition to playing, just enjoy the act of creating and setting up things and watching what happens, as well as turning them over to other people. When I get started modding a game of some sort I almost forget about playing it and just get excitement from watching the development process.
