At this point, I'm gonna hold off 'till the final version is released before I restart my asoociation. RC3a seems solid, and I haven't detected any new issues.

I'm downloading RC4 to install on a new system that's never had Puresim on it. I'm then going to load up my existing Superbas league and see what happens. Hopefully on this new system I won't have any of the weird in-game lockups that I was having before. However, I am going to update my backup copy of the association after each played game since this is not just a testing league! :) If something goes wacky I will just restore and do the game over again. I can't have my team suffer just because it's a test version! They deserve a fighting chance!

my game is looking better

no magical comeback by the AI this time around, just a solid game

pitch counts look better, and I am even get some K's on 1-2 counts this time around

even had a runner on 2nd score on a single, who normally would of ended up on 3rd before

Sarge, It is amazing how much perseverance you show in trying to get the game to work for you ... you are an inspiration and an encouragement to us all ... I'm glad that this month of June has bought us all together in such a way in a very long, long time ... Thks, Sarge

Can someone help me here (sorry if this question has been answered before)--I have version 1.72. Should I update with the 208 mb file to get the pictures and then the final release version (RC4) or scrap the pictures and just go straight to the smaller RC4 file which doesn't include the pictures.

Have there been issues when the pictures were used?

any help would be appreciated.

Duncan - upgrade free PS07 (the 208mb file) added on the RC3 and RC3a - skip the RC4 till later ... that is it ...or rather what has been working well for me ...

Shaun, I installed RC4 and I still have two issues that I am not clear on. Plus one feature request, sort of.

One--there is no "force" to 1024 x 768 screen res when starting the game, which results in a smaller on-screen presence. I normally run at 1152 x 864, so unless I manually change this every time I start the came, I lose some valuable real estate.

Two--the scoreboard will not stay where I move it. It reverts to the top center of the screen no matter what I do.

Feature request--I can see the value in popping up the player photos as plays occur, but after a while it got sort of annoying to me. is there any way this feature can be made to toggle on and off?

And, in closing--Congrats, Shaun, on rekindling that fire in your belly again. Although PS is golden "as is" it's going to be a blast seeing what you are going to do with it going forward. PLAY BALL!!!

RC4 fixes the "display cutoff" issue from before. I use a default 1024*768 screen setup, and the game now looks perfect. [:D]

Just installing PureSim Baseball 2007 again, and have installed RC4. Am running MS Vista 64-bit. Keep on getting the dialog box / error message:

Unexpected error; quitting.

Is PSB 2007 supposed to work with Vista 64-bit edition?

Should run fine, make sure you set the shortcut to "Run As Administrator"

RC4 fixes the "display cutoff" issue from before. I use a default 1024*768 screen setup, and the game now looks perfect. [:D]

Understood, KG, but I'm referring to the "forcing" of the screen res to 1024 x 768 from my default, which is 1152 x 864. When I fired PS up, screen res would go to 1024 x 768 automatically. When I would quit the game, screen res automatically went back to my default. With this, I could play a full screen game without having to manually tweak my display settings. Now, if I stay at 1152 x 864, PS shows up in a window that can't be sized, and I lose a fair amount of on-screen real estate. V1.72 offered a choice of forced 1024 x 768 or "Windowed" mode, and this option is no longer available in the freeware.

Between that and the scoreboard issue, I am staying on the fence on the new release for a while yet.

That said, ain't it **grand** to see this board jumping again! [:)]

Shaun,

I'm having the same issue regarding the wowctl2.dll file reported int the RC3 thread when installing RC4.  It just hangs on the install.  I previously uninstalled version 1.73 if that might be causing the problem.
