Computer Turn Lag

getting some serious lag during the computer turn.

Playing the Nth Africa 41-43 scen and am now at turn 49. For the last 10 odd turns the computer is taking an increasingly long time to complete there turn with a no response errors showing (although it eventually does something and I dont have to kill the game). The kind of lag I am talking about is 20 minutes of just sitting there.

I would like to finish the scenario, but cant see this happening due to this. This wasnt a problem during the earlier turns, and I have destroyed a lot of enemy units. Does anyone have any suggestions, or is this a problem with this scenario?
