Historical Positions

Post by henry296 »

How are the positions and determined in an historical league. Just started my 1961 season as the Pirates and noticed I didn't have a great left fielder so I started looking to see who had depth. As I checked out Boston, I noticed that Carl Yastrzemski was listed as a RF/CF but not a LF. I looked in the Lahman DB and Yaz is listed as a LF and OF for the 1961 season. The Red Sox only had one player as a left fielder and I noticed the same thing as the Pirates.

The import of OF in older seasons has been an issue for a long time. The only solution I know of is to manually edit each team and assign correct positions. I don't recall exactly in which season the positions start importing correctly.

I just started a 1998 season and it still has issues for OF.  Every OF on my team is in RF on the Graphical Roster View.  I checked SF and even Bonds is a RF.

I don't remember having this problem with earlier versions--is this just a 1.75 issue?

I noticed the positions seem to be ok in the import process until the "load rosters" draft when all the outfield positions are listed as RF. Anybody else having this issue?

It must be something with the updated Lahman / 1.75.

I'll have a look when I get home.

Damn, I wish I didn't forget to bring the code.
