You left out the "whichever one is still floating" category. :)

because these guys have to carry the ball for IJN in the all-important early going. Their success or failure dictate the outcome not only of MO, but pretty much the course of the rest of the campaign (I just can't seem to get into playing short scenarios. When you've got a good thing going, "more is better" for me, I guess). Anyway, S and Z, fast, nimble, and carrying those hotshot air groups, are a huge pain in the Allied butt. When you consider how little the Japanese really have to work with on May 1, '42 to carry out their ambitious plans, these two bad boys definitely have their work cut out for them (with a little help from the Slow Ho).

I even feel a particular affinity for them when I'm playing the Allies and trying to find 'em and stick holes in em.

Woe be to the IJN player who sees the rolling flames and billowing clouds of smoke emanating from these two ships in May or June '42.

I will now proceed to entangle the entire area
Put my faith in the people
And the people let me down.
So, I turned the other way,
And I carry on anyhow.

Best Carrier

Give me the Essex class carrier every time.
Plenty of planes, decent space for storage and maintainance and the punishment that they could take and continue to float.

Remember CV-13 USS Franklin.
War is HELL, and then you get married!!!
