map bug (or missing earlier update)

Post by wpurdom »

I downloaded 3.0 and 3.1 and installed them, started up the scenario after the Pearl Harbor attack, and behold my bases did not line up with the depictions of the map. All bases were shifted the equivalent of several squares up and a little to the right. For instance there is a line of bases a good bit nw of the depiction of New Guinea.
I must confess that I do not know which version of PacWar I had before the download - whether it was 2.1, 2.2, or 2.3. Would this account for my problem or do I have a unique bug? What do I do now to get an operable game again?
Do you want to see my saved game?

From version 3 onwards, there is a new map which includes all of India.

The new obc's have had their bases with their x,y coordinates modified.

If you are playing a saved game from a version 2.3 scenario or starting a new version 2.3 scenaro, then the bases will appear in slightly off their proper coordinates.
Coming second is nothing more than being the first loser...

map bug - Tiger, tiger - other scenario

Post by wpurdom »

I was not starting up a saved game. I was starting a new game with "other scenario" d - Tiger, tiger, tiger. In response to your comment, I started up the main 1941 scenario and everything was in its proper place. So apparently, some or all of the 'other scenarios' can't be played under 3.1.

I noticed teh same problem in at least one of the "other" scenarios, unfortunatelly I forgot which. I obviously didn't play that game, the issue I think was not just graphics, but the bases were actually located there making things very confusing (invisible land barriers etc.).
