UV ship pictures

Post by Spooky »

Hello

To sum up the recent forum activity on UV ship pictures, we now have :
* The ship class-to-icon complete list (done by Don Bower) - available in the UV Fansite
* The original bmp ship pictures modified by Rowlf in order to include the ship class (or classes) - the 2 zip files now include the Allied and the Japanese ships - available in the UV Fansite

* A few original bmp ship pictures modified by Wasp & Rowlf in order to be more accurate : Hiryu, Soryu, Yamato, Akitsuki & Atlanta - available in the UV Fansite

* Some of these modified ship pictures are now modified again to include their names : Hiryu, Soryu & Atlanta are done ... Yamato & Akitsuki not yet AFAIK

Edit : now available in the UV fansite

Thanks for your help

The quality of these graphics updates remind me of some of the fantastic work I've seen on Combat Mission's original artwork. The floatplane on the Yamato is amazing. Incredible work guys!!! I'm getting up ythe courage to do some pasting in my game folders... This is a great compliment to Matrix's awesome game!

Great job Rowlf. Unfortunaly we don't look at those pictures to many time during a game. Is it posible to chage the gray one use during the naval combats? If I could have the choice, that will be my first one for mods.

Well, here's the new Soryu. Goes into the JapShipShills_transp directory.

(You'll have to rename the file. Take the "(reg)" out, that's all that's required.).

Plus, I combined it with the 3D-like one.

Cool! I like the 3D effect. I will use all of them. Why not with a bit more colors?

Well, the basic color that I have been able to find (for wartime) is gray. Starting in '43, you begin to start seeing camoflage schemes begin to appear. Even those look to be variations of gray so I think the colors work ok as is.

Besides, I ain't an artist. :D

Ship silhouettes mod...

Post by Supervisor »

Ok. Here's the ship silhouettes (currently just the ship class ones, eventually I will have the combat ones done as well). I will be adding the others as I finish them.

Ship silhouettes mods:

Japanese ship class graphics mod (original silhouettes) with text, bmp version (size: 1138 Kb) [Directory: JapShip_Back]

Files included in Japan-sea-text-bmp.ZIP: (JnSide0000 thru JnSide0060, JnSide0070 thru JnSide0072)

NOTE: This is a complete set of the original (flat) graphic files from the UV subdirectory "JapShip_Back" with ship class names shown.

------------------------------

Japanese ship class graphics mod (original silhouettes) with text, bmp version (size: 2291 Kb) [Directory: JapShip_Back]

Files included in Japan-3D-sea-bmp: (JnSide0000 thru JnSide0060, JnSide0070 thru JnSide0072)

This is a complete set of the original (3D) graphic files from the UV subdirectory "JapShip_Back", one set without text, and one with.

------------------------------

Allied ship class graphics mod (original silhouettes) with text, bmp version (size: 2631 Kb) [Directory: JapShip_Back]

Files included in Allied-sea-text-bmp.ZIP: (AnSide0000 thru AnSide0068, AnSide0071, AnSide0073 thru AnSide0075)

NOTE: This is a complete set of the original (flat) graphic files from the UV subdirectory "AlliedShip_Back" with ship class names shown.

------------------------------

Allied ship class graphics mod (original silhouettes) with text, bmp version (size: 1305 Kb) [Directory: AlliedShip_Back]

Files included in Allied-3D-sea-bmp: (AnSide0000 thru AnSide0068, AnSide0071, AnSide0073 thru AnSide0075)

This is a complete set of the original (3D) graphic files from the UV subdirectory "AlliedShip_Back", one set without text, and one with.

------------------------------

I would recommend that you be sure to back up the original files before unzipping any of these files :D. Then unzip the files into the proper directory. The set without text will unzip in the directory you choose, and the set with text will unzip into a subdirectory there.

Suburb (if you can call it that) of Olympia. Olympia/Tumwater/Lacey are all intertwined. Right next to Fort Lewis.

Complete sets of ship silhouettes...

Post by Supervisor »

Ok. Just got the files up on the webserver. There is now the ship class graphics for both Japanese & Allies in "3D".

Also put up the links for the normal ship class graphics with class names.

See earlier post in this thread (about 4 back I think). Spooky should have them on his site in a short while.
